This policy explains how I, Len Allwood, handle information when you visit lenallwood.co.uk or contact me through the site.
Who is responsible for your information?
Len Allwood is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. For privacy questions or requests, email info@lenallwood.co.uk.
Information you choose to send
The contact form asks for your name, email address and message. I use this information to read your enquiry, reply to you and continue any conversation or project discussion you have asked for.
Contact form submissions are emailed to my website mailbox and stored in the site’s Elementor/WordPress submissions area. WordPress and Elementor may also record technical details connected with a submission, such as the date and time, page address, browser or user-agent information and IP address. Access is limited to authorised WordPress administrators and the services needed to host and deliver the message.
I rely on legitimate interests to respond to general enquiries and, where your message concerns possible work, to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.
Spam protection and reCAPTCHA
The contact form uses a honeypot and Google reCAPTCHA v3 to reduce spam and automated abuse. reCAPTCHA works invisibly and may process information such as your IP address, device and browser information, cookies, and how you interact with the page. This is used for security and fraud prevention, not advertising on this site.
Google processes reCAPTCHA information under its Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. I use this protection on the basis of legitimate interests in keeping the form and website secure.
Analytics and cookie choices
I use Google Analytics, connected through Google Site Kit, to understand which pages are visited and how the portfolio is used. Analytics collection is off by default. It starts only if you choose Accept analytics or enable Analytics in Cookie preferences. Contact form field contents are not sent to Google Analytics.
If you reject Analytics, Google Analytics collection remains disabled and Analytics cookies are not created. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link on the site. Withdrawing consent stops future Analytics collection. Analytics cookies already created in your browser may remain until they expire or you clear them.
The site uses Elementor Cookie Consent and the WordPress Consent API to record and apply your choice. Consent records may include an anonymised consent ID, country, consent status, selected categories and a timestamp. The consent choice is normally remembered for 180 days.
Cookies and local storage
The site uses:
- Necessary cookies for security, bot protection and remembering your consent choice. These include Cloudflare security cookies such as
__cf_bmandcf_clearance. - Optional Analytics cookies, including Google Analytics cookies beginning
_ga, only after you consent. - Local storage to remember your English or Japanese language preference. This preference does not track your browsing across other websites.
Necessary cookies cannot be switched off because they support security and the site’s basic operation. The consent banner provides equally available Accept analytics, Reject analytics and Preferences controls.
Hosting, security and other services
The site uses the following providers where needed to operate and present the portfolio:
- Elementor Hosting and WordPress to host the website, pages and stored form submissions.
- Cloudflare for content delivery, security, bot protection and cookie-free performance telemetry.
- Google for Analytics, Site Kit, reCAPTCHA and externally loaded fonts.
- YouTube for privacy-enhanced video embeds. Video thumbnails or player resources may load from Google or YouTube, and the video player connects to YouTube when you choose to play it.
- IONOS to receive and store contact-form emails.
The site also links to external websites such as Instagram and LinkedIn. If you follow an external link, that service’s own privacy information and choices apply.
How long information is kept
There is currently no fixed automatic deletion period for contact-form submissions or related emails. I keep them only for as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain relevant correspondence, prevent abuse or meet legal obligations, and review or remove them manually when they are no longer needed.
Analytics data is retained according to the settings in the connected Google Analytics property. Consent records and provider logs are retained according to the relevant service settings and operational requirements.
Sharing and international processing
I do not sell personal information. Information is shared only with the service providers named above when needed to host, secure, measure or operate the site, or when required by law.
Some providers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, the provider is responsible for using an appropriate legal safeguard for the transfer.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you rights to ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or to object to certain uses. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time without affecting earlier processing.

Security
I use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the site and the information it handles. No internet transmission or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.
Children
This portfolio is not directed at children, and I do not knowingly ask children to provide personal information.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy when the website or its services change. The latest version and its update date will remain on this page.
