I’ve been learning Japanese for years. Tokyo Talk Club grew out of wanting to turn some of that struggle into something colourful, animated and a little more fun.何年も日本語を勉強しています。Tokyo Talk Clubは、その大変さを少しだけカラフルに、動かして、楽しいものにできないかと思ったところから始まりました。

Maki became the face of it all. One character, bilingual graphics and enough motion to keep a quiz feeling alive. Sometimes it has eight minutes to breathe. Sometimes it gets ten seconds before somebody scrolls away.Makiがこの世界の顔になりました。一人のキャラクター、日英バイリンガルのグラフィック、そしてクイズがちゃんと生きて見えるくらいのモーション。8分かけてゆっくり見せられることもあれば、スクロールされるまで10秒しかないこともあります。

I wanted it to feel like it lived somewhere. Little bits of Tokyo, quieter moments and room for Maki to just exist between all the countdowns and questions.ちゃんと「どこかにある世界」にしたかった。東京の小さな断片、静かな時間、そしてカウントダウンや問題の合間にMakiがただそこにいられる余白。
